Whitman College%27s %26quot%3BSemester in the West%26quot%3B students%2C also known as %26quot%3BWesties%2C%26quot%3B gather to discuss events of the day. Every evening%2C students come together in a circle and share observations.  They are camped along the Upper Missouri River in Montana discussing the indigenous West%2C Lewis %26amp%3B Clark%2C and the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument.  Semester in the West%2C which involves students ground-truthing myth%2C legend%2C culture and politics%2C is led by Snow%27s colleague%2C Phil Brick%2C but together%2C at the campus in Walla Walla%2C Washington%2C they and colleagues have tried to build a place-based curriculum.
