Dear MoJo Faithful,

It’s finally here! Welcome to the brand new Mountain Journal website. It’s been a long time coming, but we’re glad to have you on the scene.

We began this process over a year ago, when we realized we could improve the user experience, including a more accurate search function and better capability to showcase our in-depth, original reporting and stunning photography that brings Greater Yellowstone to life.

Our vision remains the same: to provide you with fact-based, science-focused reporting on the environmental issues facing the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. As a nonprofit, digital publication, our website is our flagship distribution point. It’s now easier to find our high-quality reporting, including news and analysis, as well as profiles and feature stories.

Check out our new ongoing series, “Faces of Climate,” highlighting folks in the GYE who are doing good work on the front lines of the most existential threat of our time. Additionally, we now have the power to add new functionality and features that were never possible before: stay tuned for a real-time wildfire tracker, interactive maps and photo essays that will bring you into the outdoors.

While our new website is slick and gives you greater accessibility and an improved user experience, one thing will never change: Our commitment to you, our readers, to provide high-quality journalism that focuses on the intersection of people and nature in America’s wildest, most iconic ecosystem.

Thanks for your commitment to staying curious and informed. And thanks for reading Mountain Journal.

Onward,

Joseph T. O’Connor
